Check out our Toddler Time program!
Every other Tuesday & Friday from 10:30-11:30 am, we offer studio time just for that special preschooler in your life. We will read a story, participate in circle time activities, make a craft and enjoy a snack, all related to a theme that will change weekly. Please see below for an upcoming schedule of events. Click on our Calendar tab and choose a date to register your child. Cost is $15 + tax. Be sure to come in clothing conducive to creating! Toddler time is recommended for children ages 2-5 years old.
After reading our book, we will work as a group to take turns and chart what type of cookie each student enjoys most! We will then create our very own chocolate chip cookie using puffy paint that we make. This hands on activity will allow children to use their fine motor and sensory skills. Please have students wear clothes that allow them to create in for this activity. For a snack, they will enjoy their very own homemade chocolate chip cookie and juice box!
Students will enjoy learning about the changing season of Fall along with the book “We’re re Going On A Leaf Hunt!” We will explore the textures, size, and color of leaves as we discuss what is happening to our trees outside. Students will also enjoy going on a “leaf hunt” here in our studio! Once leaves are collected, we will use the leaves to create a Fall Sun Catcher to hang in a window of your home. When we are done exploring and creating, students will enjoy a snack of leaf shaped sugar cookies and a juice box.
Students will explore the elements of pumpkins! We will discuss how a pumpkin grows, the colors/shapes we see, and what a pumpkin can be used for. We will cut open at pumpkin at group time, and allow the children to see inside, and touch the seeds if they would like! After reading our story, “Too Many Pumpkins”, students will then be able to create a pumpkin to take home. We will be using paint for this session, so please send them in clothes that allow them to create in! Students will also enjoy a healthy snack of mandarin oranges (turned into pumpkins), goldfish crackers and a juice box.
Have you ever been afraid of something? We are going to read “The Little Old Lady who was not Afraid of Anything” to learn that there is really nothing to fear at all! We will then play a fun game that will include moving our bodies and making sounds to act out the scenes. Our craft will be a magnet scarecrow made out of paint, glue and popsicle sticks. We will also be preparing a scarecrow out of veggies and dip to enjoy for snack.
We will go on an adventure with Turkey as he tries to disguise himself to avoid becoming someone’s Thanksgiving feast in the book “Turkey Trouble.” We will play a turkey matching game and will also make our very own turkey to take home using our shoe print and painted coffee filters. We will then head to the kitchen to make a delicious turkey snack using plastic gloves, popcorn and goldfish.
